We have another round of notes on this WVU Thirsty Thursday for you.
We told you this morning that Devine was in competition with three others to be the starting kick returner for the Montreal Alouettes. The team made their final roster cuts today in preparation for the regular season, and Devine was not among those cut. During Tuesday’s pre-season finale, Devine started at kick and punt returner. He fielded two punts. He had a nice return on one and a return for negative yards on the other. Our guess from what we hear is that Devine will keep that role when the Alouettes’ regular season begins on July 1 against Calgary. His role in the offense is still cloudy.
Sanders has been sidelined all week with a hip injury for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The team announced today that Sanders will not dress for the last pre-season game on Friday.
