Welcome to the slowest sports week of the year. This is the week every year where you have the MLB All-star game and not much else going on in the sports world (unless you count the ESPYs). Today we are going to try to show you that perhaps the news week wasn’t as slow as some make it seem.
For West Virginia Mountaineer fans, at least we have Arena Football and Canadian Football to watch or keep track of with several former Mountaineers involved. We told you earlier this week how Scooter Berry is on the verge of breaking an Arena League record in his rookie season, and how Kent Richardson broke a Philadelphia Soul team record last weekend. Larry Ford signed with the San Antonio Talons and could appear in his first Arena League game this weekend. We spoke to him about the move from the UIFL to the AFL.
We have some Kevin Jones and Devin Ebanks basketball news, and we’ll see what else we can dig up on this In Case You Missed It Thursday.
First, we’ll take a look at stories from sites besides WVUPros. Then we’ll get you up to date on our stories from earlier in the week.
