The regular season of the Arena League ended last week, and two former Mountaineers enter the Playoffs looking for a championship.
Scooter Berry finished his rookie season by having one of the best seasons in AFL history. He finished with a team and AFL rookie record for sacks with 13. The Jacksonville Sharks look to defend their Arena League title against the Georgia Force in the opening round Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
The Sharks have won three straight games and now three straight South Division titles. In the last three games, Berry and the Sharks defense has ratcheted up the intensity hold each opponent under 40 points. Berry had at least one sack in each of those games.
If the Sharks defeat Georgia, the team could meet Kent Richardson and the Philadelphia Soul in the second round. Richardson set a team record this season for interceptions with 14 and leads the Soul defense into their first round matchup against the New Orleans Voodoo on Saturday night also at 7:00 p.m.
