Da’Sean Butler To Join Bob Huggins’ Staff As a Grad Assistant

Da’Sean Butler underwent a third knee surgery in July and will not be able to play basketball for one year while he recovers. While Butler may try to resume a basketball career when he is deemed healthy by doctors, he has found something else to occupy his time during the interim.

According to WVU SID John Antonik, Butler will join Bob Huggins’ coaching staff this fall as a grad assistant.

Butler played for the Austin Toros of the NBDL last before injuring his knee again near the end of the regular season. He averaged 11 points and 5 rebounds, and his coaches praised him for being a leader on the team. A coaching career could be the next logical step in Butler’s basketball career.

He found the right coach to study under in Bob Huggins.
