Here are how some of the WVUPros in the NFL fared this past weekend, starting with Pacman Jones.
Adam Pacman Jones
In the Bengals’ decisive victory over the Chiefs, he led the team with six tackles including one sack and two TFLs. Jones has had some minor injuries that have nagged at him since the Preseason. He sat out last Wednesday’s practice but returned later in the week. Jones has now tallied 22 tackles this season.
He had one punt return for 11 yards.
Injuries to the Jets’ corners and DBs continue to lead to more playing time for Lankster. This weekend against St. Louis, Lankster drew the tough matchup of defending Danny Amendola. During the second quarter, Lankster laid out and broke up a pass intended for Amendola that prevented a Rams’ touchdown. He finished with two tackles to go along with the PBU.
He recorded his first career sack last week and almost had his second this week on Sam Bradford (pictured above).
McAfee led all NFL kickers last season in tackles. He recorded another one on Sunday against the Patriots to bring his season total to four. He also had three punts for a 46.3 yard average with a long of 57 yards.
Johnson continues to show growth as a rookie fullback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had no carries or receptions against the Ravens on Sunday night — although he was targeted three times — but the team lined him up several times at tight end in addition to his snaps at fullback. NBC color analyst Chris Collinsworth called out Johnson for coming down the line and delivering a great block during the first quarter on one play where he lined up at TE. He ran a short out route after lining up at tight end on one play, but Byron Leftwich threw the ball a little too far out-of-bounds for Johnson to make the reception. At this point, he is solidly in line to earn a spot on the NFL All-Rookie Team at fullback.
Mundy recorded one tackle for the Steelers against the Ravens.
Thomas had one tackle for the Bears on Monday Night Football against the 49ers bringing his season total to three. He also has two forced fumbles playing primarily on special teams.
Note: Bruce Irvin and Darius Reynaud were off this past weekend.
