A few days after agreeing to terms with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kevin Jones NBA dream is about to become a reality after being recalled from Canton today as announced on the team website. The Cavs re-signed Jones after three monstrous games with the Charge last Thursday and then assigned him back to Canton.
“It feels great,” he told us then. “Living the dream.”
Jones recorded four straight double-doubles to begin the season for the Charge. He leaves the team averaging 23.6 points per game and 12.6 rebounds per game. He ranks third in the NBDL in both categories.
Other than C Anderson Varejao — who leads the NBA in rebounds at 15.4 per game — the team struggles on the glass. The Cavs next leading rebounder is PF Tristan Thompson at 8.1 rebounds per game the C Tyler Zeller at 4.8. They hope that Jones can help in that category.
The team released Luke Harangody to make room for Jones on the roster.
The Cavs play the Chicago Bulls at home on this Wednesday, Dec. 5th, at 8:00 pm EST. The team announced that Jones should be in uniform for the game.
