Last month, Pat White made his rounds at the Senior Bowl to meet with NFL scouts, coaches and executives with a comeback in mind. That same week, he revealed he had received a minor league contract offer from the Miami Marlins. That led us to ask: Should Pat White choose baseball or football?
This week, as spring training for Major League Baseball gets underway, White showed up, ready for camp, at the Whitfield Football Academy in California instead of training camp with the Marlins. George Whitfield will help White prepare for an NFL comeback.
Who is George Whitfield you ask? For those of you not familiar with that name as it relates to football, Whitfield is a former Arena League quarterback who established Whitfield Athletix in 2005 to help train quarterbacks to play in college and the NFL. The last two number one overall NFL Draft picks are graduates of Whitfield’s Academy. That is, Cam Newton and Andrew Luck.
Other graduates from the Academy include Ben Roethlisberger and Donovan McNabb. Sports Illustrated refers to Whitfield as “The QB Whisperer”.
Whitfield has been very positive in what he has seen out of White since he came to camp where he joins Landry Jones, Johnny McEntee, Nate Montana and Matt Scott.

If Pat White wants to get back into the NFL as a QB, then he has come to the right place.
