One year after graduating from WVU, Josh Jenkins has another chance of living out his dream of playing in the NFL. Following the 2013 NFL Draft, he was in camp with the Seattle Seahawks before getting released. After that, he stayed in shape and even hosted a football camp for kids.
This week, he received an invite to participate in the Detroit Lions work outs as the team looks to add depth to their roster. If everything goes well, Jenkins will be invited to take part in the rest of the team’s offseason programs and could potentially sign a contract with the team.
Coming out of Parkersburg, Jenkins was a starter all four seasons he played with the Mountaineers, but missed parts of the 2008 and the entire 2011 season with knee injuries.
Now, the injuries are behind the West Virginia native and he could land in Detroit.
