Colts’ McAfee donates $35k in scholarships to military families

Former West Virginia University and current Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee affected the lives of many people in a positive way Wednesday, not just with his play on the football field.

McAfee gave away $35,000 in scholarships to children of military families through his organization, the Pat McAfee Foundation. The donation certainly won’t hurt one of the most veteran players for Indianapolis, as McAfee just signed a new five-year, $14 million dollar contract in March, with $5 million guaranteed.

After making personal calls to each of those families, McAfee shared his charity with his nearly 200k Twitter followers:

The people who received their scholarships from McAfee took their personal Twitter accounts to thank him for his generosity:

If not one of the most popular former West Virginia Mountaineers today, McAfee’s actions certainly gained himself a group of new fans outside of football this week.
