We are now 78 days away from the Mountaineers starting the season against Alabama in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff. Today, Number 78 is represented by OL Rich Braham.
A Morgantown native, Braham received little recruiting interest from the Mountaineers. His dream was to wear Gold n’ Blue, and he walked-on to his hometown program in 1990. He took over the starting left tackle job by the end of his freshman season. After that, he started every game for the rest of his college career, earning All-American and All-Conference honors during his senior season.
He went on to play 13 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals at guard and center. Braham is still the benchmark in which all new Bengals’ centers are compared. In 2007, he was elected to the WVU Sports Hall of Fame.
