Quick Hit: Mike Gansey still making a career in basketball via The Register-Herald

When Mike Gansey was on the hardwood, it was easy to see just how much he loved the game of basketball.

Whether it was sinking a pair of free throws to beat Villanova and advance to the Big East Tournament championship game in 2005, or scoring a game-high 29 points when West Virginia knocked out Chris Paul and Wake Forest to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament later that same season, the Olmsted Falls, Ohio, native, who transferred to WVU from St. Bonaventure for his final two seasons as a college basketball player, always played the game with a smile on his face.

So after a professional career that included time in the NBA Developmental League and stops in Italy, Germany and China, the 6-foot-4 guard knew that he didn’t want to give up the game, even if his playing days were over.
