Joe Madsen, who started 50 games as a West Virginia Mountaineer, was signed to the Green Bay Packers practice squad, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson announced last Saturday.
The Packers will be Madsen’s second stop with an NFL franchise since his time in Morgantown after first being signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers in April 2013. The Steelers would cut Madsen in August of the same year prior to the 2013 regular season.
Madsen started all 16 games as a member of the LA Kiss football team in 2014, an Arena Football League franchise co-owned by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band KISS.
The Packers host the Dallas Cowboys for an NFC Divisional Round matchup Sunday at 1:00 p.m. on FOX.
