When NFL camps begin this summer, the Green and Yellow synonymous with the Packers will take on a decided Blue and Gold tinge. Josh Francis will sign with the Green Bay Packers according to News Channel 6 in Wichita Falls, TX.
Francis transferred to WVU after being a Junior College All-American and last played in the 2012 season where he was one of the few bright spots on that defense. He started both seasons at OLB with the Mountaineers, compiling 66 tackles (15 for loss) and four sacks. He went on to have a nice pro-day before the 2012 NFL Draft, where he impressed scouts with a 4.67 in the 40.
He had a tryout with the Packers two weeks ago after being put on the exempt list by the Wichita Falls Nighthawks of the TIFL where they will play in their season opener on March 1st.
The Packers released LB Brad Jones last Friday, opening a spot at linebacker.
Francis joins two other Mountaineers on the team in Don Barclay and Joe Madsen.
