WVUPros Week 16 Recap: Tavon Austin scampers for a TD for the Rams
We recap the week that was for Mountaineers in the NFL during Week 16 of the NFL season.
Giants 19 vs. Eagles 24
Najee Goode had one tackle for the Eagles in their win over the Giants on Thursday night.
Falcons 33 vs. Panthers 16
Daryl Worley recorded 3 tackles in the Panthers loss to Atlanta.
Titans 17 vs. Jaguars 38
Quinton Spain started for the Titans in their loss to Jacksonville.
Vikings 25 vs. Packers 38
Don Barclay entered the late in the game for the Packers at RT.
Chargers 17 vs. Browns 20
Mario Alford returned 2 kicks for 58 yards and 3 punts for 19 in the Browns first win of the season.
Redskins 41 vs. Bears 21
Colts 25 vs. Raiders 33
Bruce Irvin was held to one tackle in the win for the Raiders, mainly because it looked like Oakland’s game plan was to have he and Khalil Mack rush Andrew Luck early and often. Irvin got to Luck three times. One hit caused an errant Luck pass which led to an interception. The scoreboard says the Raiders won this game, but they lost QB Derek Carr to a broken leg. Irvin said the game felt like a loss.
For Indy, Pat McAfee punted twice for a 50.0 yard average.
Karl Joseph missed his third straight game with a toe injury. He may have been healthy enough to play, but with a playoff position already clinched, the thought here is that the team is letting him rest and get completely healthy for the postseason.
Buccaneers 24 vs. Saints 31
Keith Tandy has strung together several strong performances since entering the starting lineup for the Bucs. On Saturday, he had 4 tackles and broke up a pass. Charles Sims had 42 yards of total offense on 7 touches.
49ers 22 vs. Rams 21
Tavon Austin broke off a 30-yard TD run for the Rams in the first half, but ended the game with 26 rushing yards on 3 carries. He also had 2 catches for 14 yards.
This was not the prettiest of games to watch.
