We continue our 2017-18 NFL previews by examining the Pittsburgh Steelers’ rookie Christian Brown’s past, present, and future.
The Past: Brown signed a 3-year $1.66 million contract with Pittsburgh after going undrafted.
The Present: Brown is the youngest player on the Steelers’ roster and comes with a reputation for his athleticism and size. Despite playing on the interior defensive line at WVU, the team lists him as an end going into camp.
The Future: The Steelers will likely use Brown at both positions in camp. In the NFL, he’s kind of a DL tweener. His body type suggests he has the speed to play on the outside, but not the length. He has the strength and size to play on the inside, but would need to add some weight. In the end, it could come down to a numbers game for Brown depending on where he plays better. If he doesn’t make the final roster, he would be a strong practice squad candidate.
