We continue our 2017-18 NFL previews by examining Jacksonville Jaguar rookie Jarrod Harper’s past, present, and future.
The Past: Harper played in every game during his four-year Mountaineer career, and replaced Karl Joseph in the starting lineup after he went down with the ACL injury during his senior season. Harper totaled 71 tackles (3 for a loss) in his final year at WVU.
The Present: The Jags signed Harper after a tryout at rookie minicamp and he has stuck with the team throughout the summer. The team finds his size (6-0, 210 lbs.) appealing at the strong safety position.
The Future: For Harper to stick on the roster, he will have to out-perform James Sample and Jarrod Wilson. Should he not, he could be a strong practice squad candidate.
