We continue our 2017-18 NFL previews by examining Cincinnati Bengals’ Adam Pacman Jones’ past, present, and future.
The Past: The 33-year-old Jones (turns 34 in September) played in 16 games last season and had 66 tackles and one INT. The NFL suspended him for the season opener after Jones violated the league’s personal conduct policy stemming from a February incident.
The Present: All four Bengal corners on the two-deep, including Jones, are former first round draft picks. There are also some younger corners looking to move up the depth chart. Jones has spent time mentoring the younger DBs in his position group.
The Future: With two years remaining on his contract, Jones may finally be showing signs of slowing down. Earlier in Jones’ career, he used his speed to stay on receivers, but in recent years he has used his experience and technique to defend. Jones isn’t very far removed from a Pro Bowl appearance (2015), and while he’s a long-shot to make a return trip, he should still be an asset to the Bengals’ defense this season.
