The Big 12 Conference announced Thursday that West Virginia’s game against the Kansas State Wildcats at Milan Puskar Stadium will be televised at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 20 on Fox Sports 1. The game will also serve as the home season finale with an Iowa State road game closing out the 2014 slate of games.
West Virginia holds 35-31-3 record in games played on Thursday nights with the last game being a 30-27 win over South Florida in Tampa in December 2011.
The mid-week tilt against Kansas State will be the third night game at home since joining the Big 12, and marks the second against the Wildcats, the first being in 2012.
In West Virginia’s first night game against Kansas State, quarterback Colin Klein passed for 323 yards and three passing touchdowns, while rushing for another four touchdowns on the ground as the No. 4 Wildcats pounded No. 13 West Virginia, 55-14, in 2012.
West Virginia would travel to Manhattan last year with marginally better results, but Kansas State scored four unanswered touchdowns in the second half to cruise to a 35-12 victory.
There could be much more on the line than a win against a conference adversary on what likely be a cool night in Morgantown.
West Virginia could very well be battling for positioning in one of the Big 12’s postseason bowl games, as the team attempted to do last year by winning the final three games of the season. Kansas State could be what stands between West Virginia making it to a bowl or sitting at home in December for a second straight year.
There will be more than just an electric atmosphere at Milan Puskar Stadium to make this game important for West Virginia.
