As we draw ever closer to the NFL Draft, the prospect workouts for teams are picking up steam. On Wednesday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that WVU’s Charles Sims was in Washington to workout for the Redskins.

That makes the sixth team Sims is known to have worked out for. Before his workout with the Skins, his most recently known workouts came with the Titans who just lost RB Chris Johnson to the Jets and the Bucs. He has also had meetings with the 49ers, Eagles, and Falcons.
The Redskins recently made a splash by signing receiver Desean Jackson, but could be looking to bolster their backfield in the draft’s middle rounds. Alfred Morris has started for the Redskins for the past two seasons, rushing for nearly 3,000 yards. While being a threat out of the backfield, he doesn’t add much support in the passing game, catching just 20 balls in two years.
Sims would give that team the ability to give multiple looks by lining up in the backfield with RGIII or split out to receiver.
The 2014 NFL Draft begins on May 8th.
