Week 15 of the NFL season begins tonight with Adam Pacman Jones and the Bengals playing the Philadelphia Eagles on the NFL Network at 8:00 pm EST. Here are some of the things that you should know about going into this weekend and one note about Bruce Irvin that is not directly tied to the NFL.

Corey McIntyre

The Bills placed starting running back Fred Jackson on season-ending IR this week after he suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his right knee. Rather than go out and sign another back, head coach Chan Gailey said that Corey McIntyre could serve as a third running back if needed.

McIntyre does not have any carries this season, but has caught one pass for seven yards. He is the Bills’ special teams captain.

Don Barclay

Barclay started his first career NFL game last week for the Green Bay Packers in place of T.J. Lang. Lang injured his ankle the previous week and Barclay took his place at RT.

Against the Lions, the Packers regularly ran the ball behind Barclay as was evidenced on their first play from scrimmage. He showed that he may very well be the best run-blocker on the team, although he needed help in the passing game — although he regularly found himself lined up across from Ndamukong Suh.

Lang returned to practice this week. On Wednesday, Barclay took most of the reps at RT while Lang shifted back to his old position at LG.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said that he wants to see Lang in practice this week before determining whether he will play this weekend against Chicago. But, even if Lang returns, Barclay could still start.

“We want to make sure Don Barclay gets as many reps as he can outside (at tackle),” McCarthy said. “We’ll make sure we’re ready to go.”

Pat McAfee

McAfee is putting together the best season of his NFL career with the Colts. His growth as a student of the game could lead to a spot in the Pro Bowl.

Phil Richards of the Indianapolis Star wrote a great article about the Mountaineer kicker. You can read that here: Colts punter Pat McAfee enjoys best stretch of his career

Bruce Irvin

During Bruce Irvin’s bye-week last month, he took a trip to Morgantown to try to motivate the Mountaineer football team with notable former players such as Pat White, Julian Miller and Chris Neild.

While he was there, he donated $100,000 towards the construction of a new weight room at Milan Puskar stadium. John Antonik of has the details here: Seattle’s Sack Man Gives Back to WVU.
