Keith Tandy Does It Again

Word came out from the Buccaneers about thirty minutes before last night’s Preseason finale against the Redskins. We thought at that time that Najee Goode and Keith Tandy could both potentially start.

If you remember from last week, Tandy played mostly in the second half on defense and led the Bucs with 10 tackles. He has moved up the depth chart since training camp started. While Goode came in during the second quarter, Tandy was on the field when the starters came out to start the game on defense.

Both Mountaineers are in a place where they were trying to make a great last impression for the Bucs coaching staff in hopes of earning a place on the 53-man roster. While the final roster cuts have not been announced by the team as of yet, Tandy did his best to stand out. Again.

He led the team with 9 tackles (4 solo) in the Bucs loss. Now he waits to see if he made the team.

“I’ve just been trying to make sure I do my job and my assignments and then, most of all, I’ve been trying to make sure I fly around and get to the ball because that’s what coaches want to see,” Tandy said.

The team switched Tandy to safety during OTA’s from corner where he played at WVU. Last week in practice, he got some looks at corner for the first time. Tandy hopes his versatility will land him a spot on the regular season roster.

Najee Goode had three tackles – one on for a loss – and broke up a pass. Goode possibly won a job as well.
