The Cleveland Cavs sent Kevin Jones back to the Canton Charge  earlier this week for the fourth time this season. The other three assignments only lasted one game apiece. On Friday, Jones played in his second straight game, and he shows no sign that the roster shuffle is getting to him. For Jones, the drive to the Canton Memorial Civic Center is about a half an hour drive from his apartment in Cleveland.

For the season with the Charge, Jones leads the team in scoring at almost 23 points per game and averages 11.7 rebounds per contest.

“I definitely go up there with more confidence and it’s like I’m a whole new person when I’m down here,” Jones said of switching between the two teams. “I just try to bring that same kind of energy and intensity there when I get called back up.”

In his first game back with Canton on Wednesday, the Charge lost a nail biter to the Bakersfield Jam 106-103. Jones had 27 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and blocked two shots.

On Friday, Jones had another strong game, this time against the Erie Bayhawks. He had 23 points and nine boards as the Charge won 112-100, extending their division lead to 3.5 games over Erie. You can watch highlights of that game here: Erie Bayhawks vs. Canton Charge

The two teams will meet again on Saturday night. You can watch that game live at the bottom of this page at 7:30 pm EST.

Also on Friday, Alex Ruoff came off the bench and scored 10 points for the Iowa Energy 107-100 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
