Ford92   A week after leading the defense for the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks of the PIFL to a win, Larry Ford tells us he has signed with the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League. He joins fellow Mountaineer Julian Miller on the roster and will see a familiar face on the opposing sideline in his first game this week: Jarrett Brown of the Spokane Shock. Miller is currently on Injured Reserve.

Ford played for the Orlando Predators of the AFL after completing his first season with Lehigh Valley last year. With LV — and with Adam Bednarik at QB — Ford went on to earn All-League honors.

Ford and the East-Division leading Gladiators face test in his first game with the team as they head out west on Saturday to battle the West-Division leading Shock. QB Jarrett Brown is in his first season with the club, and is excited to see Ford again. Brown currently serves as a backup to Erik Meyer.

Ford tells us he’ll play in the game, despite being a new addition. He says he’ll play on his customary defensive line, at MAC linebacker and on special teams. He will fit right in with his new club.

“I know just about half the team, and they all welcomed me with open arms,” he said.

The Gladiators play the Shock at 10 p.m. on Saturday April, 19th.
