Former Mountaineer Larry Ford is in his first season with the Florida Tarpons of the UIFL as a pass-rushing DE. In Arena Football, the plays happen quick, and quarterbacks get rid of the ball quicker.
That hasn’t stopped Ford from being a menace in the League as one of its leaders in sacks. Ford, and his coaching staff, sees his time in a Tarpon’s uniform as a stepping stone to something bigger. First, they thought he would get calls to the AFL where former Mountaineers like Kent Richardson, Scooter Berry, and Johnny Dingle play.
Now, after going through half of a season with the Tarpons, there’s a feeling that Ford could be on his way to bigger places such as the CFL or possibly the NFL.
Here is a video showcasing Ford’s abilities at the midway point of the UIFL season.
