Past Mountaineers weigh-in on current WVU football team

We all have our opinions on last Saturday’s game against Alabama.  Most of us have been making predictions on the rest of the season since the game concluded . . . doing our best game analysis from the comfort of our own couches.

I caught up with a few former ‘Eers to get their thoughts on what they see for the upcoming season.  While they are a few years removed from the film room, rest assured they are still tuned in each weekend to watch the Gold & Blue. Once a Mountaineer, always a Mountaineer.

Here is what they told me:

“After watching the performance against Alabama, I’m very optimistic about these kids having a very strong season.  It’s going to be a fun year!” -Mike Dent, center, 2005-08

“The defeat WVU suffered ironically made this year an exciting time for Mountaineer fans. When the players play with passion the way they did on Saturday, the fans follow right along.”  -Pat White, QB, 2004-09

“As a WVU football alum, I am extremely proud of the Mountaineer efforts! I know they will keep fighting”. – Brandon Myles, receiver, 2003-06

“Things are different at WVU. Everybody says that you have to play with a chip on your shoulder… But at WVU we take things a little further. It’s a different kind of family and only the hard-working and consistent make their mark. This season will be exciting and I’m proud to always be a Mountaineer.”  – Najee Goode, LB, 2008-11

“I was proud of how our boys played.  It’s a step in the right direction to show that WVU can compete with elite programs.” – Sidney Glover, DB, 2007-10

One thing is certain, everyone is optimistic to see how the next several months play out for WVU Football. Stay tuned. . . .
