NFL WVUPros Week 2 Recap: Bruce Irvin Gets His First NFL Sack

For Mountaineers in the NFL, Sunday afternoon had some fireworks. Here is a recap of players in the games. We will have any feedback from the players, coaches or media soon.

Adam Jones got things started first with an 81-yard punt return in the first quarter that resulted in a touchdown for the Bengals. It was his fifth career punt return for a touchdown.

Bruce Irvin was originally given credit for a blocked punt in the first quarter against the Cowboys that was recovered by the Seahawks for a TD. Video review showed that Irvin did not block the punt but was very close.

Irvin recorded his first career NFL sack during the second half on Tony Romo.

Will Johnson helped to set up a Pittsburgh Steelers touchdown on the first possession of the game against the Jets. He was a regular option in the passing game.

Ryan Mundy got his second consecutive start for the Steelers. This time, he started in place of Troy Polamalu. He had a big hit on Jets’ RB Shonn Green during the second quarter that left Green woozy.

During the third quarter, Mundy recovered a fumble on special teams. He finished with 5 total tackles.

Ellis Lankster moved up to the Jets #3 CB with Darrelle Revis out with a concussion. He had a nice pad breakup on a third down during the first half.

He finished the game with 3 tackles.

Pat McAfee had 5 punts for a 54-yard average.
