Noel Devine signs with the Edmonton Eskimos

Noel Devine  The Green and Gold of the Edmonton Eskimos are beginning to take on a decidedly Blue and Gold look. The Esks announced today the signing of Noel Devine.

Devine spent the last two seasons with the Montreal Alouettes as a slotback and kick returner. He made most of his contributions on special teams, recording 1,039 yards between kickoffs and punts. On offense, he had 22 carries for 90 yards and had 13 catches for 131.

He became a free-agent following last season and wanted to try his hand at making an NFL roster. He participated in his second pro day at WVU and spent some time with the Carolina Panthers following the NFL Draft.

Now, two weeks into the CFL regular season, he joins Pat White, Robert Sands and Selvish Capers on the Eskimos roster. He could help the team at running back and on special teams where the team has had injury problems.

The team next plays this Friday, July 11th at 10:00 p.m., and will air on ESPN News.
