The Carolina Panthers placed Brandon Hogan on injured reserve today, shutting him down for the season.
The Panthers selected Hogan in the 4th Round of the 2011 NFL Draft hoping he could eventually start at cornerback. He injured his ACL in the last regular season game he ever played for the Mountaineers against Rutgers.
He had been slow to recover from the injury compounded with a pulled muscle in the same leg while with the Panthers. The team feels Hogan can be a starter for them based upon what they have seen when he practices and his play in the last three games last season.
He had not played in this Preseason.
This came from the Charlotte Observer this evening about Hogan:
The Panthers also placed cornerback Brandon Hogan on injured reserve for the second straight year after he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery last Friday.
