The Pat White “Relaunch” train is picking up steam. It will roll from San Francisco to New York for a workout with the Giants. According to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Post, White will work out with the G-men early next week.
While White would certainly be no threat to displace Eli Manning at quarterback, he would be a great addition to their scout team. In their division, the Giants will face Robert Griffin III and the Redskins and Chip Kelly’s new Eagles offense twice a season.
Manning’s backup at QB is David Carr. If you remember seeing Carr play in Houston or Carolina, you know that he doesn’t have the ability to replicate the type of quarterback the Redskins will face at least four times per season on the scout team. White would be a perfect fit.
He would have a familiar face in the Giants’ locker room: former WVU teammate Selvish Capers.
He worked out for the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday where he would likely have a similar role helping the team prepare to play Russell Wilson twice a year.
