After a record-breaking three-year career at WVU, Stedman Bailey made it known today that he will declare himself eligible for the 2013 NFL Draft after the New Era Pinstripe Bowl according to Mike Casazza of the Charleston Daily Mail. Bailey hinted about his decision on Twitter last night.
Bailey led the NCAA in receiving touchdowns with 23. His closest competitor was DeAndre Hopkins from Clemson who had 16. Through the regular season, Bailey boasts 106 receptions for 1,501 yards. He ranked third in the nation in average receiving yards per game with 125.1, behind only Baylor’s Terrance Williams and USC’s Marquise Lee. Bailey set many career, game and season records for the Mountaineers.
He took home First Team All Big-12 honors this season and was named a First Team All-American by the FWAA for 2012.
Bailey redshirted as a freshman and is on pace to graduate this spring although he is eligible to play for one more season.
Bailey possesses a great aptitude for catching the ball and is a disciplined route-runner. Later this week, we will have a full NFL Draft profile on Bailey.
