stedmancombine  Stedman Bailey came into Indianapolis with something to prove at the NFL Scouting Combine. Despite leading the nation in TD receptions last season — and breaking many school records along the way — many people saw Bailey as the 13th or 14th best receiver in the draft. Did his performance at the combine dispel that thinking?

The first thing that went well for Bailey came on Friday when he measured in bigger than expected. On Sunday, when the on-field workouts began for wideouts, he ran a slightly better time than expected in the 40-yard dash. When it came to the pass catching drills, he stood out. On one of his few misses, Landry Jones of Oklahoma threw the ball over his head and two yards behind him on an out route. Mike Mayock of the NFL Network highlighted Bailey, calling him and Clemson’s DeAndre Hopkins the best pass-catchers at the combine.
