The St. Louis Rams hold the 2nd pick in May’s NFL Draft and questions swirl about what they will do at that spot. Will they make a pick or trade it? Among the candidates graded that high, few fill an immediate need.
One potential soft spot on the team is at receiver. Last season, the team lacked a bona fide #1 receiver, using several different options. Chris Given, Brian Quick, Austin Pettis and WVU’s Tavon Austin to handle the bulk of the load.
Stedman Bailey came on late in his rookie season with some nice contributions, and as we reported last week, the Rams have high expectations for Bailey and Austin in their second seasons. So much so, that GM Les Snead may pass on a prospect like Sammy Watkins at #2.
Currently, ESPN lists Bailey as a starter at receiver.
