How did you spend your Saturday night yesterday? West Virginia point guard Juwan Staten spent his Saturday at the basketball program’s practice facility getting better ahead of senior season for the Mountaineers.
On his Instagram account, Staten gave people a peak into his practice session, where he hit a variety of shots from three-point range last night. Check out the video here:
It’s unclear on just how much better Staten can get after being one of the best players in college basketball a year ago.
Staten led the Big 12 Conference with 18.1 points and 37 minutes per game, and finished second with 5.85 assists per game and eighth with 1.24 steal per game last season. With only fifteen three-point attempts, Staten could add a brand new weapon to his arsenal on the court to go along with already impressive skill set.
To counter the departures of Eron Harris and Terry Henderson, Staten will be joined by Billydee Williams, Tarik Phillip, Jaysean Paige, Daxter Miles and Jevon Carter in the 2014-2015 recruiting class.
West Virginia opens the 2014-2015 basketball season with an exhibition against Shepherd University on November 9 followed by the season opener against the Monmouth Hawks on November 14.
