Last year, we tried to produce a Mock Draft for the 2011 Draft and failed miserably. We tried to tell you in what Round and with what team those Mountaineers would get drafted. The Carolina Panthers pick of Brandon Hogan with the 1st pick in the 4th Round surprised us. We had him pegged a little lower. As did the Bears drafting of J.T. Thomas. We thought Chris Neild would go higher, but he ended up being one pick away from going undrafted.
This year, we have decided to give you a snapshot of what the experts think. We will tell you how high or how low some of these guys could get selected. Here we go.
Irvin worked out for at least 12 teams following WVU’s Pro-Day. His draft stock shot up, and competition among those teams could lead to someone selecting him in the 1st Round. The NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi said on Wednesday that one team has told Irvin they love him and will draft him in the First Round.
CBS sees Irvin as the 64th overall ranked player in this draft, and projects him to go in the 2nd to 3rd round. One of their writers thinks that the Texans will select him in the 2nd.
Others see Irvin as a 1st-Round talent, but his past will probably cause him to fall in the 2nd to 3rd Round. We have seen him go to the Ravens with their 2nd-Round pick, and NFL.com has him going to the Jets in the 3rd Round.
NFL.com has Goode going to the Bengals in the 5th Round. CBS.com projects Goode as a 6th or 7th Round pick.
NFL.com has Tandy going to the Steelers in the 5th Round. He could go before that in the third, or fall as low as the 6th from what we have seen. to the Bengals in the 5th Round. CBS projects Tandy as a 4-5th Round pick.
Many mock drafts have Miller going a anywhere from the 5th to 7th rounds with Miami and Pittsburgh as likely destinations.
Where do you think these Mountaineers will get drafted?
