This week’s look at Mountaineers on the hardwood examines a few players leading the way as they charge through their respective Playoffs as well as Kevin Jones continuing to excel in the Philippines and the a new WVUPro.

Asya Bussie – This biggest news of the week is the newest addition to West Virginia Mountaineers playing in the Pros as the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA drafted Bussie with the 15th overall pick on Monday night. – Read more here

Kevin Jones – Jones continues to excel for the San Miguel Beermen in the Philippines. His play kept his team in second place of the 39th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup following this past weekend. The Beermen defeated the San Miguel Coffee 97-88 on Saturday behind Jones’ 28 points, 16 rebounds and four assists.

Joe Alexander – The Santa Cruz Warriors swept the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the first round of the D-League Playoffs last week. Joe Alexander did not play with a calf injury. He practiced with the team on Monday. The Warriors next play on Thursday as they open up the semifinal round against the RGV Vipers on Thursday night and we hope Alexander will be active.

Alex Ruoff – Ruoff and BG Goettingen blew out ETB Wohnbau 101-72 to close out the quarterfinal round of German Pro-A Playoffs. The Mountaineer sharpshooter scored 22 points on 8-11 shooting to go along with six rebounds.

John Flowers – On Friday, Flowers had an opportunity to play his old team, Denain Voltaire. JL Bourg edged Denain 76-73 with Flowers scoring 19.

Da’Sean Butler – The following day, Butler matched Flowers’ 19 points in a Okapi Aalstar win over Verviers in Belgium Ethias League action. He also had seven rebounds in the contest.

Truck Bryant – After two weeks off, Bryant and the Furstenfeld Panthers (Austria) suffered an 81-70 defeat at the hands of Kapfenburg to open the Playoffs on Sunday. Bryant contributed 16 points, four rebounds and three assists in the game.

D’or Fischer – The big man for Brose Baskets in Germany led the team with 13 points and five rebounds in a one-point loss to Bayern Muenchen on Sunday.
