A mystery has been solved.
Late yesterday evening, word came down that the Seattle Seahawks had released QB Geno Smith, a dayafter cutting Paxton Lynch. That left Seattle seemingly with only one healthy quarterback, Russell Wilson.
I was shocked. Most people who had paid attention to Smith’s solid play during the Preseason were shocked.
Seattle needed to move some pieces around after pulling off a blockbuster trade for Jadeveon Clowneyon Saturday. Smith was apparently one of those moving pieces.
He will be the backup in Seattle now to start the season.
