Geno Smith wins backup job in Seattle

The Seattle Seahawks announced on Friday that they waived QB Paxton Lynch. The team brought he and Geno Smith in during the offseason to compete to be Russell Wilson’s backup.

Both Smith and Lynch missed time during the preseason due to injuries. Smith’s looked sharp on Thursday night, throwing two touchdown passes. Lynch completed one of seven passes.
