We told you yesterday that Kevin Jones’ playing time with the Cleveland Cavs had dwindled to only playing one minute this month.
The Cavs announced this afternoon that they have re-assigned Kevin Jones to the Canton Charge. He played in 15 games for the Cavs, averaging 1.9 points and 1.5 rebounds in nine minutes per game.
The team sent Jones to Canton for one game last week where he scored 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds against Fort Wayne.
Before that, Jones stood out in the five games he played with the Canton Charge at the beginning of the D-League season. He recorded double-doubles in four of those contests before being added to the Cavs’ roster on Dec. 4th. He averaged 23.6 points and 12.6 rebounds during his first go-round with the Charge. He will now have the opportunity to get more playing time in the Cavs’ organization as he continues to develop.
Jones should be in uniform tonight for the Charge as he re-joins his old club and old Mountaineer teammate Alex Ruoff on the court against the Erie Bayhawks. You can watch that game live, via Youtube, here at 7:00 pm EST.
