Two Mountaineers met on the hardwood of an NBA regular season game since Jerry West played against Fritz Williams in the mid-1970’s (h/t John Antonik for the suggestion about Williams), when Devin Ebanks and the Lakers traveled to Cleveland to take on Kevin Jones and the Cavs.
The Cavs upset the Lakers 100-94 despite 42 points from Kobe Bryant. The Lakers are reeling at 9-13 on the season. It is the first time they have been 4 games under .500 since the end of the 2004-05 season according to Elias. They have been without Steve Nash and Pau Gasol for long stretches this season.
Devin Ebanks did not score in six minutes of play during the second half, but did have two assists and one rebound. Kevin Jones did not play.
These two teams will meet again on January 13, 2013 in Los Angeles.
