Every year, the Portsmouth Invitational gathers college seniors to compete against each other in front of a multitude of NBA scouts. Last year, Casey Mitchell used a strong performance he used to earn an NBDL contract.
This year, Darryl ‘Truck’ Bryant received an invite to try to show he’s ready for the NBA. He played for the K&D Rounds Landscaping team in three games, starting one. The team lost all three games they played, finishing eighth in the tournament.
Bryant averaged nearly 8 points and 4 assists in 22 minutes of play. He did not shoot any three-pointers in his first two games but missed on two attempts in the last game. In that last game, he had 11 points and 4 assists in 18 minutes of play.
“I know I will play in the NBA,” Bryant stated. “I know that for a fact.”
He will now go through the rest of the pre-Draft routine which will involve appearing in other camps and workouts for NBA teams. The Draft will be held on June 28.
