The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced the list of candidates on the ballot for enshrinement in Canton on Thursday, and The Hoss was one of seven quarterbacks on the list. Professionally, Hostetler is best known for leading the New York Giants to a win in Super Bowl XXV in 1991. He retired following the 1998 season 16,430 yards passing and 94 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,391 yards and 17 touchdowns. Hostetler is already a member of the West Virginia Sports Hall of Fame after going 18-6 in two seasons under Don Nehlen.
The Mountaineer great could add a gold jacket to his wardrobe (which I’m sure it would fit right in).
