Tavon Austin had one catch for 8 yards in the Cowboys Week 1 win over the Giants. He spent most of his time on the field as either a decoy or a blocker. Austin left the game after one such blocking assignment where it was determined that he had some concussion-like symptoms. The trainers and Austin played it safe and held him out for the rest of the game. He did not practice on Wednesday while still having the concussion-like symptoms.
“He had concussion symptoms coming out of the game, so we’ll just take his situation day by day,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said. “To be honest with you, he continued to feel some symptoms after the game. It wasn’t something that he needed to come out of the game for. So we just have to be mindful of that and take care of it.”
Hopefully Austin will be okay to play in the Cowboys Week 2 game on the road against Washington.
